For so long, I’ve been eager to become more than just someone who was utterly obsessed with interior design. Recently, while flicking through my Real Living magazine, I came across an advert for iscd (international school of colour + design). I took the first step toward my dream of becoming a fully-fledged stylist and shot them an email.
The whole process was very exciting and pretty amazing. I went in to see the team at the North Sydney school and told them about my goals of moving beyond being a part-time stylist for friends to undergoing some real study that could help me realise my dreams of getting into interior design. Their student adviser, Aida, was so full of passion (she has completed courses at iscd herself) and took me through the Certificate IV in Design.
There was never really any hesitation on my part about this course and the school. The moment the lift doors opened into their colourful foyer, I felt like I was home! Once Aida gave me a tour of the school and the lowdown on just what the course could do for me, I was sold. I couldn’t be happier to make 2013 my year for study, especially considering the whole thing fits in with my full-time job as a sub editor.
The most exciting part is being able to share my knowledge about styling on the blog. Granted, I do this already, but to have a complete understanding of what I am so passionate about it going to be beyond amazing. If you’re in the same boat as me and you’re eager to get into a course that you can do after work each week, iscd is definitely worth looking into.
The study begins in May and runs to December, so it’s going to be a very busy – but very, very exciting – year. I can’t wait to immerse myself in this course and bring news, tips and more to you when I can throughout the second half of 2013. the life creative will run as normal, but it’s safe to say the blog is about to get so much better with the help of this course from iscd! Lock and load, creatives!

Wow, how exciting! When you’re a big fancy stylish and need a PA think of me…I’m your gal. It would be so fun to work in a creative industry.

Well done you 🙂 It is always great to learn more, even though I already read your styling tips with awe.
Good luck with the course I am sure you are going to be top of the class 🙂
aww thanks Rebecca – that is very kind of you to say! I can’t wait to start the course and get a real foundation for the stuff I already love.
