I was saying as recently as last week just how eager I was to get an ensemble bed so that I could switch up the bed head at a moments notice when I got bored (and Lord knows I love to change up my decor!). Days later the May/June issue of Inside Out Magazine hit my doorstep (thank you magazine subscription!) and what should grace the pages – a feature on bed heads! I am never one to be dramatic but clearly this is a sign from above. Clearly.
Of course it’s wise to point out that choosing a bed head is not a decision to be taken lightly. You really need to consider your environment before you splurge on a piece like this. For example, being almost 50% crazy cat lady with two felines of my own, my dream of owning a fabric covered bed head – like the dark blue Oxford bedhead in Tilda Ink linen – is just not going to work, as the cats will make it their own private scratch post (though I am absolutely in love with the plushness and that button detailing). The wooden Jessica headboard pictured is just as nice and taps into my love of all things industrial.
Which of the bedheads is your fave?

Bedheads weren’t my only moment of divine intervention, of course. Tea pots also make a very welcome appearance in the issue, which is all about creating a winter home you’ll fall in love with. I was raving about tea cosies in my last market picks for a cosy Autumn blog post, so these tea pots are timely indeed. I think my fave has to be the bright blue pot on the top right, which is a Japanese enamel teapot from tenthings.com.au. I was also particularly taken by the snaps from film producer Romy Sormann’s home; get a load of that beautiful purple rug!
The May/June issue of Inside Out is on news stands today! I’d love to know what you’re digging the most about this warm and cosy issue and just what you’re doing to make your home toasty for Autumn (I just keep eating more Thai but it doesn’t seem to be working!).
