1 | Sunday’s wet weather did not stop me from getting out to scout for creative finds. Top3 by Design rewarded me for my troubles with the discovery of these amazing Gascoigne & King candles. These luxury soy candles come in a variety of scents, but the Figue has to be my fave for its timeless, earthy fragrance. Once you sniff these bad boys you’ll be hooked. I recommend ordering an intervention in advance!
2 | Freedom was having a sale on over the weekend, so it would have been downright wrong of me not to wander about and take in the homewares magic. This industrial Drawers & Co Chest was one of my favourite pieces, because I adore anything that combines wood and metal. Just get a load of all those drawers – I wanted to crawl in and discover my own Narnia.
3 | I made a conscious decision to organise my home office this week and the gorgeous Orla Kiely range of decorative storage pieces – from Howard’s Storage World – played a big part in it. They also acted as a fab starting point for the rest of my desk decorating. Pictures of the space are coming this week, so watch this space.
4 | Shack never fails to disappoint when I wander in to scope out their new stock. On a rainy Sunday in Sydney, I assure you that this armchair, decked out so elegantly with a complimentary throw and cushion, was seconds away from being dived into with an accompanying refusal to leave. Cosy doesn’t get more beautiful than this. Am I right?!
5 | I won’t lie, I was late to the party when it came to discovering Orson & Blake. But it’s better late than never – and thanks to their pop-up store at the Supa Centa Moore Park, I have been visiting endlessly to take in their range of unique, international and luxe-looking homewares and furniture. I absolutely adore this picture wall and the tribal-inspired cushions. I want it all and I want it now.
6 | I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a caffeine junkie, so I was delighted to see Adairs selling art that pretty much summed up my philosophy when it comes to a hot bevvie. Coffee really is always a good idea, as are these statement pieces for the home. I can see the coffee one working perfectly in my kitchen. Add it to the must-have list.
7 | Remember that kids’ song No more monkeys jumping on the bed? It’s the first thing I thought of when I saw this cute little chimp toy taking five on this monochrome-schemed bed at Aero Designs in Surry Hills. I love to keep things playful when it comes to decorating in the home – and what better way than a toy for the bed that keeps things cool instead of why-does-an-adult-have-a-carebear-on-their-bed creepy?
Gascoigne & King candles are amazing! I got one as a housewarming gift a while ago and seriously have not looked back. Good find!
I know right. I was sniffing non-stop! There is something so luxe about them!
For those that are absolutely loving them – we curently have gascoigne and king on sale at “Reclaim by Monica Trapaga” please pop your head in!
Hi Lil Tulloch – I emailed your store so I could come and do a full store tour, snap some pics and showcase you on the blog but alas, no reply 😉 Perhaps we can speak soon, Chris.
