This week’s divine real room comes courtesy of Melody Rautio from Parkes in NSW, who tells me this space is used for more than just eating. Reading the Sunday paper and time on the laptop means that this eclectic area is a multi-purpose paradise. There are a number of reasons I’m going nutty for this dining room; it’s safe to say that there’s a lot to love!
The giant artwork adorning that wall is a real show stealer. “My favourite piece in the room is the painting on the wall which was given to us when we were engaged by a very good friend. This artwork has travelled from Australia to Finland and back,” Melody tells me. “I love this room as it’s a great place for all of the family to get together and also to enjoy a romantic dinner when the kids are finally in bed”.
Artwork aside, this room has many other amazing elements. The floorboard are luscious, the table and chairs are sleek, the pendant lights are the things dreams are made of and I spot a babushka doll on that vintage sideboard that’s giving me heart palpitations. This is one eclectic space I’m more than envious over.
