| There were gasps at every turn on Thursday when I popped into Parterre in Woollahra for a wander about. This store is an absolute dreamboat, filled with ornate french homewares, furniture and of course, this glorious stone bird – which has only further fuelled my obsession with bird ornaments. A full store tour of this local wonderland is coming soon!
| I had an absolute ball in Lane Cove on Friday – checking out local homewares stores with Jacky from In the Cove. We made a pitstop at Story Espresso for a chino and I couldn’t help but go a little gaga over the industrial-style lights that hung from the ceiling. Metal is so hot and happening right now in design and I am definitely in love with the look!
| I had a bit of a Newtown adventure this week gone by and Monster Threads was on my definite go-to list. It always gives me new, left-of-centre ideas for fashion and the home – and these Momot paper toys illustrate my point perfectly. These would look great in a playful vignette or on a shelf in a teen bedroom.
| You know what I say, the wrapping is just as important as the present (a potato peeler will be a glorious gift as long as you wrap it nicely – true story!). I spotted this basket of space-aged wrapping in Reclaim in Newtown and just loved the design; took me right back to my childhood!
| I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Melissa and Simon from Ashdowne and Bee this week in their new Stanmore studio. It was such a beautifully styled space, complete with this clever and alternative idea for displaying florals. Love the jar, love the ribbon, love the flower; it was a lovefest all round!
| Speaking of florals I love, this gorgeous Poppies design by Mark Lobert was one of my fave pieces from this week’s tour at Designer Rugs in Edgecliff. The colour combination is spot on and I love the dripping effect that’s going on too. The full tour is coming up soon – so stay tuned.
| It was an absolute treat visiting Stella Bella Home in Lane Cove this week and this Abode Aroma candle certainly helped the experience. The fragrance was delightful and it was so refreshing to see a square candle take centre stage.
