real rooms: juliet’s colourful kitchen diner

Juliet Morris’ divine kitchen and dining space caught my attention for a few reasons. Yes, the fully stocked bar was one of them, but the punches of colour were also a drawcard. Having lived in this Curtin home with her husband Clive and two children for ten years, Juliet is a clear lover of high voltage hue, allowing her pieces to pop by pairing them with a black and white base.

“The bar area of the kitchen is great and friends sit on the bar stools while we whip up cocktails,” Juliet tells me. “It has a gorgeous view of the pool and backyard”.

I am also pretty smitten with Juliet’s black wall above. It’s very Abigail Ahern inspired and the artworks become so much more vibrant against it. The use of a long couch is a quirky one that suits the playful nature of the room.

“I love the fact that the dining area has a long sofa to sit on like you’re in a cool cafe/restaurant,” Juliet says.

Well, my dear, if you can whip me up a cocktail I am burning rubber pronto to get down to your place for a sip and a swim. This would be such a fabulous summer space!
