A beginner painting course in 2003 unlocked something in Bendigo-born artist Carolyn O’Neill, leading her to leave behind her career as a psychiatric nurse. “My past occupation has made me more aware of human emotions and the fragility of the mind, including my own,” she says. I don’t know about you, but I think a story this interesting needs exploring. And explore it I did, when I spoke with the artist – who now calls Hamilton home.

megan morton’s things i love book

If it’s one thing I do on a regular basis on lunch breaks, it’s walk to the bookstore nearby, head straight to the home and design section and look for new book releases.

Some need a few minutes of perusing, some you flick through for five minutes and then put back on the shelf and some – like this little gem from creative genius Megan Morton – need about 15 seconds of flick-through before you march to the counter and bag that bad boy!
