a chat with tough love tv host andrew winter

aw2

Ever since Selling Houses Australia premiered in 2008 I have found Andrew Winter, the tough love host who isn’t backward in coming forward, to be the hilarious backbone of the show. While his real estate knowledge is unbeatable, I find his first impressions – where he tells home owners the truth about their property – to be the standout segments of the show. I caught up with the no-nonsense patriarch of the award-winning Lifestyle Channel series to discuss real estate, living in Australia and what really happens behind the scenes on SHA.

this week’s top seven creative finds

1 | The world is intent on feeding my desire to turn into a crazy cat lady with 45 felines running around. And who am I to put up a fight? This week I had the pleasure of stumbling across the amazing Cloudy Apple website, where I laid eyes on this amazing Amelie gift pack. These easy-to-assemble decorative boxes – in all their kitty cuteness – are the best way to display a gift, if you can part with them yourself!

things i’ve learnt about blogger jen bishop

At last year's Belle Awards

Take it from me – blogging is not for the faint hearted. There’s the pressure of posts, anxiety over images and stress over social media, not to mention the worry over readership. I caught up with this inspiring gal to get the full story on life as an interiors addict.

issue9-bespoke-1-coverhr

This week I got the opportunity to fall in love with a new magazine; one that blends arts, crafts, creative people, places and more. Sounds a little bit like The Life Creative, don’t you think? Perhaps this is why I’m so smitten with *bespoke*. For its ninth issue, new editors Robyn and Elle redirected the mag’s focus slightly to include only Australian and NZ creatives and their handmade products. Supporting local creatives – what could be better? This issue is full of inspiration and a few gorgeous surprises. On with the preview!

review: mr jason grant’s a place called home

P1110721

I was eagerly awaiting the launch of A Place Called Home by Sydney stylist Mr Jason Grant for quite a while – and for many reasons. Firstly, how refreshing to see a home decor book my a male! Secondly, I had seen the front cover of the book splashed over social media and it alone had spoken to me (I have that storage box, I love decorating with red and I adore using pegs to display photos!) Lastly, he’s uniquely Australian; what’s not to love about a local lad whose spent years working with popular magazines, now releasing a book that chronicles his favourite things?

i made anzac biscuits for australia day

P1090185

To prove that the Young Divas weren’t the only amazing collaboration to come out of Australia and New Zealand, I took to the kitchen recently and made choc-dipped Anzac biscuits (it is Australia day this week after all!). Lord knows I am no whiz in the kitchen, so rest assured that these bad boys are really easy to make and actually taste pretty stellar.
