a morning at the horses birthday fete

P1130350

This morning I finally decided to check out The Cannery in Rosebery, which is right beside the amazing Koskela and The School of Megan Morton. After I grabbed a bacon butty and coffee, I was delighted to discover that on premises was the stunning Horses Birthday Fete. Running all weekend from 10am to 4pm, it was a marvellous, magical and featured the extraordinary Megan Morton and a stack of other Creatives. What more could you ask for?

I love to bag a bargain. And when there’s a local, handmade find in the mix, I’m like a kid in a candy store. This past Thursday night I hit my kind of lolly shop – the East is East Night Markets at the Tap Gallery in Darlinghurst. What I uncovered on my adventure was a stack of local Creatives who’ve made some fabulous homewares and accessories (some of which you’ve seen on the blog before). Ok, I have never actually had that happen – I saw it in a movie once. But the point is, pop up shops are glorious because they’re a short burst of sunshine where you can grab some breathtaking pieces you won’t see everywhere. Case in point: this weekend’s Nest pop up shop! I’m all over it!

a little indulgence at sparkle cupcakery

P1120347

It’s safe to say that I’m addicted to sugar. If I didn’t run regularly I’m not sure in what state my body would be in (actually, a pretty blissful one). In any event, I was delighted to pop into the wonder that is Sparkle Cupcakery at the weekend and finally try one of their fantastic cupcake creations. I’m going to keep it real and admit that they’re going to be a staple in my diet from here on in because they’re that good. And on a sidenote, I will need to run more.

decor destination: arcadia liquors in redfern

P1120181

I made a conscious decision at the start of the year to get out more and explore new places, especially ones where the decor is a bit hot to trot. When my friend Holly told me I would like the fit-out at Arcadia Liquors in Redfern and that we should go there for a drink, who was I to ignore such a dangling, design carrot? Industrial decor and a cheeky wine – I’m there!
