Fabulous news just in, Creatives! The masterminds behind one of my fave brands, Opus Design, are launching a brand new e-commerce website today. What does that mean for you? Online Shopping! I had the pleasure of touring the Opus Design Co store in Paddington back in April and not only will goodies from this store feature on the website, but the other two stores (Opus Paddington and Octopus) will also be showing off their wares!

how to make your own scented candles

P1120609

I was going to start this post with a “If it’s one thing I love about winter” vibe, but truth be told – I love everything about winter! Candles, though, are distinctly winter if you ask me, so I’m rather fond of making my own scented varieties when Mother Nature lowers the temperature.

which-are-you-wednesday: cushions

I’m not afraid to admit for a moment that I’m utterly obsessed with cushions. If I had the money I’m sure I would own thousands. If only I had enough chairs, couches and beds to accommodate them all. First world problem of the highest magnitude! Help me narrow down my next selection by naming your fave cushion in this week’s which-are-you-wednesday: cushions!

ABOVE: This Coastal cushion keeps things light and breezey with its relaxed vibe. Nothing too out-there with this soft furnishing – just calming colours that play well with a neutral colour scheme. Very seaside chic indeed.

form, function and fun at freedom

P1110227

Freedom and I have had a long friendship. I recall saving up across several paycheques as an 18 year old and going to Freedom to get my first real bedroom setting; an amazing bed, tallboy and two bedside tables combination. On with the store tour…

my top five market picks for a colourful kitchen

It’s no secret that I have a small aversion to a beige colour scheme. My kitchen lends itself to much the same aversion. If there’s one space you can splash out and be a little daring, it’s this room! So while things might be a little dreary outside this Autumn, get a little bright and happy with these market picks (and do let me know what you love).

greenery, gold and giggles at garden life redfern

P1100545

I’ve always thought that the garden should be a little out of control, a bit untamed, a tad random and not too thought-out. I had never considered though – until my trip to Garden Life in Redfern – that it could also be a place for humour and fun. Needless to say, after hitting this Cleveland Street haven and eyeing off their wares, I am well and truly eager to make the garden a giggle-fest!

i’m reading happy home by charlotte hedeman gueniau

P1100275

I thought I was a fan of colour and extremely adverse to the use of beige until I picked up Happy Home by the founder of Danish homewares company RICE, Charlotte Hedeman Gueniau. It clearly states from the get-go that not all Danish design is about cool and calm interiors and I must admit, the whole ethos of the book being fun, colour and enjoyment speaks to me like the new Pope speaks to the man upstairs (and I sometimes talk back)!
