styling my office with howards storage world

P1120291

I’m not good with organisation – I’m big enough to admit it. My partner often asks me where I put something and is met with a blank face as I try to figure out how I can dodge the truth; that the item in question was placed somewhere he or I will never locate. But with a little help from Howards Storage World, all that is about to change (I promise!).

industrial dreaming with retrojan releases

The Crosby Vintage Dining Chair is to die for.

It should come as no surprise by now that I would sell my grandmother for a piece of industrial furniture (ok, not really, Gran; but you better play your cards right from here on in!). So when I came across some of these industrial pieces from Retrojan, I had to sit my partner down to break the news that all of our current furniture was being sold on eBay to make way for these bad boys.

news just in: whites and brights do mix

War_Pony_2

If it’s one thing Mumma Creative has been telling me for years, it’s that brights and whites don’t mix. While this is of course true when it comes to washing your clothes (if I find one more pink shirt!) the same cannot be said for home decor.

pimp your office with typo’s new releases

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; Typo is hands down the place to go for affordable stationery, giftware and decorative pieces. Freedom and I have had a long friendship. I recall saving up across several paycheques as an 18 year old and going to Freedom to get my first real bedroom setting; an amazing bed, tallboy and two bedside tables combination. Years on (I won’t divulge exactly how many) I still gravitate toward this homewares haven for the very same reasons I did back then; phenomenal furniture with form, function and fun. On with the store tour…

rustic charm at the norfolk surry hills

P1100218

Confession time: I’ve lived in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney for well over six years and prior to last weekend I had not been to The Norfolk. Even after its killer makeover in December 2010 (I know, cuff me and throw away the key). Plenty of people had told me how much I would love the beer garden there – and after sitting in it for a few hours recently, they weren’t wrong. It’s laid-back, mismatched retro vibe is right up my alley (as are the cocktails)!

things i’ve learnt about stylist mason browne

7thwonder 4

Sydney stylist Mason Browne is the ultimate slashie; with a career that spans 14 years in the entertainment and hospitality industries, the self confessed Instagram addict and now-stylist – among other roles in writing and production design – has certainly had his finger in many pies. Drawing inspiration from just about everywhere, he finds solace in books when he’s in a rutt. “There is nothing better… just grab a heap of really heavy art, design, fashion and photography books, camp out and just absorb the imagery”. Here’s a few more things I learnt about this man about town.
