Rugs are the new cushions if you ask me; they’re so affordable nowadays that you can swap them around at a moment’s notice when you tire of your old one (unlike when they swapped old Pippa for new Pippa on Home and Away – that was just too big a change for me to handle). The added bonus with smaller, lightweight rugs like the ones above is that you can layer them for a relaxed and casual vibe that still packs a visual punch (and you can score them at a discounted price – read on!)

form, function and fun at freedom

I recall saving up across several paycheques as an 18 year old and going to Freedom to get my first real bedroom setting; an amazing bed, tallboy and two bedside tables combination. You know you’re a home decor addict when your friends send you pictures of the inside of homewares stores, saying “you have to check out this place”. That’s exactly what happened with Opus Design Co; my friend Jess shot me a photo of the inside of the store via her iPhone and as soon as I got the chance I ran in there to take it all in. It’s like a decorative rainbow exploded, in the most awe-inspiring way possible!

1 | I lost my mind strolling through Opus Design Co in Paddington and I am not certain I have it back yet. The front window of this store was breathtaking on its own. This ottoman, in all its coloured glory, is the things dreams are made of (if only I didn’t have cats who would take joy in removing every single ball).
