I love the freshness white and brights bring to homewares and Spring is certainly the time to celebrate the union of these colours. While we’re on the topic of celebrations, I’m toasting kikki.K for releasing this gorgeous new homewares collection, Svenska Hem, which takes the brand a step further in its glorious world domination. In stunning yellow, pink and minty shades, the new collection is all about crockery and kitchenware – and makes for distinctly colourful Spring entertaining.

real rooms: nicole fiedler’s bachelorette pad
Located just five minutes from the water in Warriewood on Sydney’s Northern Beaches is this colourful apartment; the self-named bachelorette pad of Nicole Fiedler. Purchased last year, it was her first out-of-home experience, “So I was very fussy and particular about how I wanted to style the place,” she tells me. “Being a visual person, I need to have different shapes, textures and colours to look at and enjoy”. Trust me, Creatives, she certainly has it in this dreamy space!
two hot trends from the new ikea catalogue
Nothing gave me greater pleasure this past week than receiving a sneak peek into the upcoming 2014 IKEA catalogue. Not only are there some glorious new products on the horizon and a real focus on spending time at home with loved ones, but there’s two hot trends that caught my eye in particular – and they’re very different decor looks indeed!
this week’s top seven creative finds
1 | You may call it a rusty old bird cage, but I call this beauty – that I snapped at Halchemy Design in Newtown – the things vintage dreams are made of. I absolutely adore this sort of vibe and would love to pop a few giant candles in this gem for a splash of old-world-meets-new. The little bird they’ve perched inside just caps off this piece wonderfully, as does the subtle blue tones that are peeking through the rust. Are you a fan?
adding some colour to my sandwiches
Working in an office has given me great insight into what one should never bring into work for lunch. Parmesan cheese is something best left to enjoy at home, for example. A sandwich on the other hand, you can never go wrong with (ok, unless it’s curried egg. Again, best left for a special night in… alone).
I am going to marry miss paperie’s new range

Clockwise from left: Geo Hearts, Mirror Aztec Pines, Starry and Origami Elephant
It seems like just yesterday I interviewed Melissa Leung from Miss Paperie – my first interview for The Life Creative. It was, in fact, six months ago, and boy has she been a busy gal between then and now! The creative mastermind has gone from producing geometric stationery to launching a full-blown, breathtaking range of cushions and phone covers. They’re all stamped with her signature style, of course, and I for one am going a bit gaga over them. Alert the authorities: I am about to swoon!
getting organised with officeworks
Life as a full time sub editor, columnist, stylist-in-the-making and blogger really does get a little chaotic. If I had a dollar for every time I woke up at 3am thinking about what project was due or if my blog posts were ready to upload, well, I’d be raking in the cash! Thankfully, to ensure I get some much needed beauty sleep, Officeworks has saved me with a brand new fashion stationery range to keep my life sorted – and in an array of pretty pastel colours, too!
crushing on kikki k’s new crafting collection
The ethos of the new Kikki K Crafting Collection is I just want to make beautiful things – and with the range of items on offer that allow you to completely customise your own projects, you can see why I’m so inspired to shop ’til I drop and get making my own personalised keepsakes! If you’re anything like me and get heart palpitations over stationery and pops of colour, prepare yourself; this new collection has it all. Cue the romantic music!
this week’s top seven creative finds
1 | It’s no secret that I pretty much need coffee drip-fed to me on a daily basis (is four coffees too many?), so when I spotted these amazing Lavazza A Modo Mio machines at Myer at the weekend I went a little batty with excitement. I’m in love with the colourful sheen on these bad boys and the blue and green shades have to be my favourite. Check out their website for the full colour range!
mother’s day markets at the grounds
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of The Grounds of Alexandria. I’ve shown you just how breathtaking this venue is before on my garden tour. So when I caught word that they were putting on Mother’s Day markets, well, it kicked my excitement levels into overdrive and of course, I had to check it out. From flowers to food to farm animals – it was all there – and I snapped it like a fiend for your viewing pleasure!
