decor destination: arcadia liquors in redfern

P1120181

I made a conscious decision at the start of the year to get out more and explore new places, especially ones where the decor is a bit hot to trot. When my friend Holly told me I would like the fit-out at Arcadia Liquors in Redfern and that we should go there for a drink, who was I to ignore such a dangling, design carrot? Industrial decor and a cheeky wine – I’m there!

an exclusive look inside the aparttment

P1110812

The Sydney CBD is inundated with places to eat and bars to drink at, but what’s been missing for quite a while is the presence of boutique stores you usually find scattered about the Eastern Suburbs (or down in Melbourne, for that matter). Things changed very recently when The Aparttment opened its doors, giving city dwellers the chance to immerse themselves in one-of-a-kind clothing, homewares, art and accessories. Call me crazy, call it gross, but I love nothing more than slamming on the car brakes when I see a piece on the side of the road and hauling it back home to do over. Case in point – this amazing now-bedside table!

i refurbed a second-hand stool

IMG_3063P1080385

Turning this $15 stool that i found at Vinnies into a cute piece for my place was easier than I thought it would be. And surprisingly, it was pretty cheap too. I’m absolutely in love with this stool now (should there be a fire this might be the first thing I take). And the best part, when I get sick of the fabric on top it’s a cinch to change up! Check out how it all came together…
