I’m not afraid to admit that I love a French antique. There is something so wonderfully character-filled about these old finds that just captures my interest. I love a piece with a sense of story too, so when I cast my eyes upon the Contemporary Collection of furniture available at The Country Trader in Waterloo, I had to get the swoon police on speed dial.
Achieving a coastal vibe is all about the right tone and texture
I have to be honest with you, Creatives; I have been into homes where I have seen things I cannot un-see. You know, sand in bottles, shells in jars, Gone Fishin’ signs; all of the things that people thought you needed to create a coastal vibe. Thankfully, design therapy has taught me that you don’t have to be so literal with your decor. If you’re looking to channel a coastal vibe, it’s simply a matter of using tone and texture – with a little accessorising – no sand in sight!
Turning this $15 stool that i found at Vinnies into a cute piece for my place was easier than I thought it would be. And surprisingly, it was pretty cheap too. I’m absolutely in love with this stool now (should there be a fire this might be the first thing I take). And the best part, when I get sick of the fabric on top it’s a cinch to change up! Check out how it all came together…
