I’ve shared my love for Stone Inspired on the blog before – I have my very own set of coasters from this divine local company! This latest collection, titled Sail Away, has arrived just in time for Spring and celebrates everything the tropics have to offer. Better still, you can win this set of four and bring a coastal vibe to your own abode thanks to Stone Inspired – and moi, of course!

fancy a new oz design cushion? win one!

Screen Shot 2013-09-13 at 8.10.44 PM

I need a cushion intervention. There, I said it. I’m big enough to admit that I have a hungry obsession for them that shows no signs of slowing down! Cushions are the easiest way to breathe new life into a space, and they’re my first go-to item when my room looks tired. How glorious then that Oz Design and I are teaming up to have you win one (I’m going to live vicariously through you because my couch is refusing to allow another cushion on).

four delicious new colour trends for the home

Screen Shot 2013-09-10 at 2.56.06 PM

Each year, leading Aussie paint retailer, Paint Place, develops and releases a series of trend forecast colours and themes specifically for the local market. This year, I was lucky enough to attend the media breakfast and hear trend forecaster Lucy Sutherland and stylist Deb McLean speak about the delightful new trends! Scope out the four looks below and let me know which is your fave (there are so many crafty project ideas in this post I can barely contain my excitement!).

a look at freedom’s new dinnerware releases

Screen Shot 2013-08-27 at 4.44.45 PM

Forget about the warm weather – Spring is all about gorgeous new releases like these beauties from Freedom’s dinnerware collection. I got a peak into some of the pieces at last week’s Freedom Summer Launch – and just got these fresh pics hot off the press and styled to all new levels of perfection. ¬†Which of the three sets is your favourite?

this week’s top seven creative finds

1 | I know, I know, my top find features garbage bins. But, those aside, how amazing is this Marilyn Monroe street art – complete with a set of pearly white vamp chompers? I spotted this graffiti in Kings Cross when I was on the way to TheHome Spring Launch this week and had to take a snap. Street art tends to divide people but I am definitely all for it when it’s done well.

fun in the sun at the freedom summer launch

Screen Shot 2013-08-22 at 9.25.30 AM

I must say, getting a sneak peak at my favourite things in the world (that’s homewares) really is one of the major perks of being a blogger. When Freedom invited me to take a look at their soon-to-be-released tableware range on Wednesday, it was on like Donkey Kong! Not only did I get to see some of their stunning new pieces, but I also got a look-in on their Christmas wares as well. It was all rather dreamy!

my low budget, low maintenance garden

P1100923

Plants are that demanding sometimes that I just lose interest in trying to keep them going all the time. Short of having a courtyard that resembles a cement museum, I had to find some low maintenance greenery to give my garden a low-budget pop. Half-an-hour in Flower Power was all it took to get these hardy babies a new home (and they’re still alive!). Total spend on plants and soil was around $60.

creative finds | this weekend’s (supa centre) top five

The Australia day long weekend just occurred Down Under and despite the wet weather, herds of people hit the shops. I (foolishly?) was one of them. But I had to go scope out what all the sales fuss was about at the Supa Centa Moore Park. Who else can you rely on to bring you this weekend’s top five?

1 | This little piggy definitely went to market! Howards Storage World stocks these very cute rubber piggy banks. The great honking snout comes right off so you can dip into your savings when you’re down to your last glass of wine (I didn’t say that). There are cow versions too – and both come in an array of colours – so you can add some whimsy and playfulness to even the most adult home.

brighten up your space with a citrus splash

Lemon and Orange with iPhone on Table

At a friends place recently, I saw a rogue orange and random lemon scattered on her kitchen bench. The iPhone got put down soon after and in a moment of genius I realised what great colours these are to brighten up a space (especially during summer Down Under). Check out some yellow, orange and green decorating inspiration:

Fabric from Spotlight

1 | Since receiving my sewing machine for Christmas, my mind has been occupied with thoughts of one thing; fabric! I headed off to Spotlight at the weekend and nabbed these two. The first stop on my sewing journey is going to be some glorious summer cushions. These pops of colour are very on point!
