Not only because some of them fall apart, but because it’s hard to hone in on a style that feels timeless as well as working from a practical perspective (a cork coaster is a one way ticket to Absorption City). I was a bit overcome when I got my hands on these bad boys from Stone Inspired, then – with a personalised gift inside just for me!

a little indulgence at sparkle cupcakery

It’s safe to say that I’m addicted to sugar. If I didn’t run regularly I’m not sure in what state my body would be in (actually, a pretty blissful one). In any event, I was delighted to pop into the wonder that is Sparkle Cupcakery at the weekend and finally try one of their fantastic cupcake creations. I’m going to keep it real and admit that they’re going to be a staple in my diet from here on in because they’re that good. And on a sidenote, I will need to run more.

my low budget, low maintenance garden

Plants are that demanding sometimes that I just lose interest in trying to keep them going all the time. Short of having a courtyard that resembles a cement museum, I had to find some low maintenance greenery to give my garden a low-budget pop. Half-an-hour in Flower Power was all it took to get these hardy babies a new home (and they’re still alive!). Total spend on plants and soil was around $60.
