I love the freshness white and brights bring to homewares and Spring is certainly the time to celebrate the union of these colours. While we’re on the topic of celebrations, I’m toasting kikki.K for releasing this gorgeous new homewares collection, Svenska Hem, which takes the brand a step further in its glorious world domination. In stunning yellow, pink and minty shades, the new collection is all about crockery and kitchenware – and makes for distinctly colourful Spring entertaining.

furniture fix: how to dress a brown sofa
A friend of mine recently told me she was at a loss when it came to decorating around her brown leather sofa. She had tried adding turquoise accessories but admitted that it felt a little expected (I have to agree with her there). Here are a few ideas to ensure your brown couch – be it leather or upholstered – is used successfully in your space and plays well with your other pieces.
trending: say hello to yellow (and make it work)
I’ve been a big fan of a sunny yellow for quite some time (my business cards are splashed with this hue). Thank the decor gods above, then, that Spring is bringing it to all my fave stores and homewares mags, making it the undeniable colour of the moment. If you’re plugged in and ready to play with yellow (it would be criminal not to), all you have to do is introduce it into your home in the right way so it doesn’t offend your current furniture!
real room: sam’s dreamy open plan home
I love open plan living and the dividing up of a space into zones using furniture. This week’s Real Room does just that – and exceptionally well, might I add. The beachside suburb of Glenelg is the setting for this lovely abode, the home of Creative Sam Cannell. What’s not to love about a space that’s so light, bright, and gives a gentle nod to a coastal vibe without a literal item in sight!?
fun in the sun at the freedom summer launch
I must say, getting a sneak peak at my favourite things in the world (that’s homewares) really is one of the major perks of being a blogger. When Freedom invited me to take a look at their soon-to-be-released tableware range on Wednesday, it was on like Donkey Kong! Not only did I get to see some of their stunning new pieces, but I also got a look-in on their Christmas wares as well. It was all rather dreamy!
get a load of these terracotta treasures
There’s simply no denying the fact that I’m a bit obsessed with colour. Yes, I understand and have even posted about the fact that beige can be beautiful – and I fully appreciate the swoon-worthy qualities that a Scandi scheme possesses. But for me, dear Creatives, it’s all about a high-intensity hues. You can see why I was delighted to feast my eyes on these Terracotta Treasures then!
which-are-you-wednesday: bedding
I think bedding is one of those things you don’t fully appreciate the importance of until you sleep in something of quality. This happened to me recently when my parents purchased me a winter quilt. Good Lord it is magical. It inspired this week’s Which-are-you-Wednesday: Bedding! I actually have one of the below sets. Let’s see if you pick it as your fave!

I call this one BRIGHT BOHO because it reminds me of the store, Tree of Life. I also happen to absolutely adore that purple crochet throw and the patterns on those pillows are to die for!
10 creative finds you never got to see
I was struck down with a cold this week, which meant getting out and about to snap some creative finds was very much off the cards. Thankfully, though, I have an entire vault of photos from my adventures around the traps; which means you get to see 10 very gorgeous finds that never made it onto my usual top seven. On with the show…
1 | I love street art when it’s done well and this piece – that I came across from an adventure in Fitzroy last year – is just amazing. I swear when I purchase a house, I want to find a street artist who can come and create something like this for me on a wall in my backyard. I know graffiti isn’t for everyone, but I love the urban and industrial nature of it. Please let me know if you’re aware of an artist who could do this for me!
this week’s top seven creative finds
1 | I was smiling from ear to ear when my glorious business cards arrived this week courtesy of the graphic design genius Amber Stapff at Sprowt Graphic Design. The entire process was seamless. Amber really understood the vibe of the blog and incorporated all the key elements I was after; the black circle, the chevron, my lowercase tlc and the colours I was looking for. I am absolutely in love with them. What do you think?
decorator dreaming at orson & blake
I received some news over the weekend that delighted me to no end. My new fave store – Orson & Blake – is staying at the Supa Centa in Moore Park! I have been in and out of the store a few times since it landed a couple of months ago and this time around I took my camera to snap their unique wares. It’s tribal, it’s eclectic and it evokes a lovely sense of relaxed luxury; everything a homeswares lover could ever want!
