When I attended this week’s Cotton On Open House event, Mother Nature was again in fine form – beaming down some glorious golden rays (she’s been in such a good mood lately!). And when I use the term ‘open house’ I actually mean it; the event took place inside and on the lawn of a glorious home in Point Piper. It was all rather amazing. Not only did I star spot Didier Cohen and papp the lovely Lara Bingle, but I immersed myself in a tonne of Typo goodness!

review: 100 ways to happy chic your life
If my mother told me tomorrow that I was adopted, I think I’d book a redeye flight to New York to declare myself Jonathan Adler‘s brother. We seem to share the same adoration of colour, a love of quirk, a fondness of humour and a partiality to a scatter cushion or seven. It’s in his latest release – 100 Ways to Happy Chic Your Life – he cements himself as my ultimate go-to guy for out-of-the-box home decor inspiration. So, we may not be brothers, but we are at the very least cut from the same cross-stitch!
real rooms: jill sparrow’s divine dining space
Granted, Creatives, I’ve not heard of Saratoga on the NSW Central Coast – but I’m ready to book my train ticket (or chopper flight) ASAP if it means I get to soak up the sun in this dining room. Belonging to Creative Jill Sparrow, this three-bedroom home is a sun-lovers dream and is decked out with some stunning pieces that make me want to grab at my chest; reminiscent of a daytime soap character when their beau comes back from the grave!
a look at freedom’s new dinnerware releases
Forget about the warm weather – Spring is all about gorgeous new releases like these beauties from Freedom’s dinnerware collection. I got a peak into some of the pieces at last week’s Freedom Summer Launch – and just got these fresh pics hot off the press and styled to all new levels of perfection. Which of the three sets is your favourite?
my interview with icon karen mccartney
With a career spanning over 20 years and many continents, Karen McCartney has become an industry expert on interior design and home styling. The founding Editor of Inside Out magazine is now on board as Temple & Webster’s Editorial Director, revelling in the fast pace of the ever-changing online space. I was lucky enough to take some time out with this interiors icon to learn more about her creative journey, how she styles her own home and so much more!
upcycled designer furniture from ginger elliott
For Nicole Elliott & Sarah Hargrave – the founders of design business Ginger Elliott – finding unique furniture pieces to upcycle is a giddy experience. “Quite often we turn heads, as we can’t contain ourselves with excitement,” they tell me. “The thrill of finding the piece starts the creative process”. And what a process it is. Just looking at some of their creations is giving me heart palpitations (in the best way possible!).
this week’s top seven creative finds
1 | I know, I know, my top find features garbage bins. But, those aside, how amazing is this Marilyn Monroe street art – complete with a set of pearly white vamp chompers? I spotted this graffiti in Kings Cross when I was on the way to TheHome Spring Launch this week and had to take a snap. Street art tends to divide people but I am definitely all for it when it’s done well.
a lush high tea at thehome spring launch
Sometimes you see decor that makes your heart skip a beat (and leaves you wondering how far away the medics are should you need resuscitation). This scenario happened to me when I attended TheHome Spring Launch yesterday. The Gazebo Wine Garden was the venue for this afternoon high tea and the styling work from Marj Silva (below), Emma Blomfield and the team at TheHome was truly something spectacular.
fun in the sun at the freedom summer launch
I must say, getting a sneak peak at my favourite things in the world (that’s homewares) really is one of the major perks of being a blogger. When Freedom invited me to take a look at their soon-to-be-released tableware range on Wednesday, it was on like Donkey Kong! Not only did I get to see some of their stunning new pieces, but I also got a look-in on their Christmas wares as well. It was all rather dreamy!
top notch textiles from a local creative
I do love me a soft furnishing (guilty as charged), so I was rather delighted when I discovered local Creative Shakira Lima during my online travels. Her store, Shakiraaz – a celebration of handcrafted and Indian-inspired gems – was established in 2011 after she spent a few years prior developing and creating products out of her Melbourne home.
